"Shit is hot, kid. It's like, what if Natalie Merchant weren't a boring old lady, but an aussie ass-kicker? And then she punched you in the ass with rock? "Capacity" is the heartbreak song of the motherfucking year, which is funny, because "Am Not" is clearly the hit single. It's like she lives in your closet and shows up sometimes to be like, listen, you don't even know it, but this is what you are like. To miss this album would be to miss, I don't know, an album that makes you cry better than most other records, if you're drunk." --review by the illscientist on www.cdbaby.com
"Rach
Green is a dyed-in-the-wool rocker girl, and that's all right by us. You
can hear her aggressive heart at the center of the four songs on her fabulous
new EP, from the terse, lurching, Ani Difranco style opener 'What You
Wanted', to the breezy Go Betweens-esque, 'Capacity'. Rach is also a talented
guitarist. As she sings on the stoic and courageous 'Am Not'; “I'm
gonna play my hands down to the bone, I’m gonna stand up and do
it on my own” ...which is what Rach is indeed destined to do. The
woman is strong, single-minded, and hyper-creatively-inclined, the kind
of person who is more than ready to embark on a significant career voyage.
The only thing she has to do now is book her passage." History….Rach Green is a multitalented singer/songwriter who performs on guitar, voice, piano, & percussion. No stranger to the music scene, she has been performing and composing since age twelve, she cut her teeth on the live rock scene as singer/songwriter/guitarist & manager, for all-female three piece punk outfit 'tinderbox' (later known as 'Poinaz Dare'). Often referred to as the female version of Aussie rockers Silverchair, this grrl rock group supported the likes of Bikini Kill (USA), as well as performing in major capital cities Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. It was their level of energy and enthusiasm which won runner up prize in national radio Triple J's unearthed competition, and saw them release 3 singles in 1997 – Take No Credit, Melting Barbies and their pop-punk cover of the Men At Work classic; 'Down Under'.
